PLEASE NOTE: Our podcast hosting provider recently had to shut down due to financial difficulties. We are currently looking into new hosting options and will let you know when we come up with one. If you happen to know of a good podcast site or have any other recommendations, we'd love to hear 'em. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Many of the musicians who are featured on HounddogRadio.net or perform on one of our shows are up-and-coming independent artists. To get to the heart of their music, Hounddog Productions often records interviews with the artists and publishes them for use on HounddogRadio.net and/or by the artists themselves. We've recently started archiving some of our interviews and special shows here. If you missed any of these or just want to hear 'em again, we've gotcha covered. It was a great evening of music in The Cybertoxic Lounge on September 19, 2007, as Spencer Durham, Alisha Anderson and Tanner Hendon all stopped by to talk with Eric Jefferson and play some of Spencer's awesome music. 19-year old Spencer Durham is an amazingly polished and accomplished performer, particularly for such a young age. We caught a few of his recent performances around the Atlanta area and were greatly impressed with his musical ability, as well as his showmanship. His latest CD, Much More Than Words, has quickly become one of our favorites, particularly the outstanding track, "Without a Doubt." All three of these young folks proved to be greatly talented as well as mature and level-headed for any age, let alone their actual ones. We enjoyed their visit very much.

Spencer has opened for the likes of the Black Crowes, the Allman Brothers, Ziggy Marley, Del McCoury and David Grisman. The group even landed a coveted spot on 2007's prestigious Echo Project Music Festival! Very, very cool.

Delta Moon

What a great show it was when Tom Gray and Mark Johnson of Delta Moon stopped by the Doghouse on August 3, 2007. Delta Moon is a four-piece, bluesy Southern-roots band centered around the masterful slide guitar work of both Tom and Mark. Tom is also a renowned songwriter who, in addition to his wonderful Delta Moon compositions, has written music for Cyndi Lauper (“Money Changes Everything”), Carlene Carter, Manfred Mann, and many other well-known acts. The man has one hell of a resume, friends.

Tom and Mark stopped by Friday Night Fusion to talk about Delta Moon's brand-new album, Clear Blue Flame (um, we're still not even close to being tired of 2005's Howlin' yet), and premiere some of the tracks. We dug 'em all. These guys front one of the most popular bands in the southeastern U.S., and that's not by accident. Not only is their music superb, but we enjoyed their stories as well and found them to be personable and interesting throughout the entire interview. Come on back anytime, guys!

Little Country Giants

We were delighted to have Russell and Cameron Lee Cook of the Little Country Giants stop by The Gumbo Show with Joe to talk about all sorts of things and pick a few tunes in the studio. These wonderful, acoustic performers have been voted "Best Traditional Folk Act" (Reader's Choice), for Creative Loafing's Best of Atlanta in both 2005 and 2006. David Eduardo of AthensMusic.com says:

"The music performed by Little Country Giants dates to an era where cowboys were becoming an endangered species--but well before Nashville endorsed drawstring linen pants, highlighted hair, and expensive porcelain teeth...(They) take listeners to the front porch of an antebellum mansion. Everyone gets a rocking chair, and the fire flies flames are never extinguished."

Check out the Giants' album, Sing Pretty for the People, and you'll get a good taste of what all these folks are talking about.

Kristin Tinsley

It was quite the fun-filled evening in the ol' Cybertoxic Lounge as the lovely Ms. Kristin Tinsley and her "manager" (Kristin's friend, Kira Ryder) came by to tease torment talk with Eric Jefferson. You can check out some photos from the interview here.

Kristin treated us to two live songs from her debut album, Cry Out to the Night, and gave us some insight on several of the recorded tracks. In fact, we were the first station to add it to a playlist! We weren't the only ones playing it for long, however, nor should we have been. The music is too good for that. Kristin's songs pay homage to '70s classic-rock bands such as Fleetwood Mac, the Eagles, Tom Petty, and other artists who, way back when, created melody-driven and memorable music that resonated with fans of many genres and age groups.

Kristin even stuck around after the interview and co-hosted two hours of programming with Frank (hmmm, after two hours with Eric, then two more with Frank, we think the girl needs to start choosing her company a little more wisely). This lady has a bright future ahead of her and we were honored to have her with us.

April Cummings

One of our favorite Georgia artists, the wonderfully talented Ms. April Cummings, stopped by The Cabaret Show with Joe (now Gumbo Show) on January 30, 2007 to talk about her album, Just a Little Country (which we happen to think is a remarkable piece of work), some of her future plans, her influences, and a few other interesting topics. Eric and Frank were also hanging out for this one, and everyone had a great time. We played several tracks from the CD during the interview and enjoyed every one of 'em. As one listener later commented to us via e-mail:

"(April's) very bright and has her head on straight - not to mention extremely talented."

We couldn't agree more with that statement and hope to have April visit us again soon. She is an outstanding artist and a true friend.

Who says all takeovers have to be hostile? Hell, some of 'em can be fun! On Wednesday, December 6, 2006, Hounddog Radio temporarily surrendered the programming reins to our good friends The Bearfoot Hookers and Terry Flynn. They picked the music, commandeered our chatroom, and told some hilarious stories. Oh, yeah.

All of these guys had been in the studio with us before, but this was the first time we had 'em all in together. We didn't quite know what to expect. In fact, we were a little frightened. We sure had fun, though!
